Offset Volunteered To Help Feed Voters In Gwinnett County On Election Day

Offset Volunteered To Help Feed Voters In Gwinnett County On Election Day. Offset has been very vocal and using his platform to inspire his fans to use their voice to vote. The rapper went live on Instagram and showed himself masked up, walking into his polling station. After he voted, he shared that he would be giving out free food to voters in Gwinnett County, GA, as they wait in the long lines. Offset partnered with, The Slutty Vegan, Big Dave’s Food Truck, and The Lincoln Project.

Last month Offset did a profound PSA about voting that was inspired after a conversation with Common. In the PSA, Offset explained that after his first felony conviction as a 17-year-old, his parole officer gave him incorrect information that he couldn’t vote. However, because Offset didn’t want to have any more issues with the law again, he never attempted to register.

With the continual threat of voter suppression, Common pushed Offset to share his story as many previously incarcerated men and women can fall under this same notion.

Today, while giving out food to voters, the Lincoln Project released tweets about their involvement with Offset and how, when he tried to feed Gwinnett voters, Offset was threatened by the Gwinnett County Government. The organization claims that it was an act of voter intimidation and discrimination.

It seems like no matter what, the incident didn’t break Offset’s spirit because he stepped into The Shade Room, leaving the comment “Love the positivity.”
