Omarion and Taye Diggs have finally met! In August, the singer told The Shade Room he hadn’t met the actor, who began dating his children’s mother, Apryl Jones, in early 2022.
Omarion claimed he didn’t have “any ill feelings” toward the couple at the time, given that he’s “moved on.” And it seems like that stance has remained after recently meeting Diggs at a school event for the singer’s son. Apryl and Omarion share two kids, Megaa and A’mei.

Omarion revealed details about the link-up during an interview on Sway In The Morning.

“I just met him for the first time, and he seems like a cool dude,” O said. “And he had kids of his own, so you know, he’s an older man, so you know, I only expect, you know, good things from him.”
Omarion also gave a rendition of the conversation, which you can view below.
Omarion also discussed having a blended family and the conversations that may follow–including with the kids or a new partner in your former partner’s life.
“For me, showing up as a man for my kids means , you know, we got to have some tough conversations sometimes, and I don’t think it’s nothing wrong with that. I think as long as, you know, respect is overstood and apprecaited within the scope of the blended family then I think you could virtually get through anything.”
Omarion Says Co-Parenting Relationship With Apryl Jones Has Improved
Before diving into how he met Taye, Omarion also briefly discussed their split. Sway asked the singer if he felt the need to apologize to Jones for distancing himself from their former relationship. Omarion responded yes, before explaining how their opposing views of love at the time contributed to their end.
“…We were both in different place at the time in our life. It was just kind of like damn, we got to chalk that up to being teachers in each other’s lives rather than, you know, meant to be together for the rest of our lives–even though in an aspect we will because, you know, my kids. They have all kinds of things that they have to do for school that we both show up.”
In August, Omarion also told The Shade Room that his relationship with Apryl was in a “transformative state.” In the years since their 2015 split, Jones and Omarion maintained a strained relationship–from Apryl’s former romance with B2K group member Lil Fizz to her allegations that Omarion keeps her in court. But now, the singer says things between them have improved.
“I will say we have been moving towards a better relationship at this particular point in time,” Omarion said. “For the kids! It’s all good, it was just something that we went through. With all respects to you know people feeling complete in their life, like everybody from my past that I may have had a challenge or adverse thigns with like I wish them well. You know, I mean I want them to be happy.”
And happy Apryl seems to be! In January, fans suspected a break-up between her and Diggs after they seemingly unfollowed each other on Instagram. However, she shut down the rumors in a statement to The Shade Room–revealing that they were headed to Atlanta to work on a project together.
A few days later, she shared a video of them on set, captioned “first movie together.”
