Fans learned of the upcoming new music hours after Rem reportedly participated in a divorce court hearing with Papoose. According to an exclusive report from radio host Angela Yee, today’s proceedings in the couple’s split fell flat! This comes as tensions between Ma and Pap’s girlfriend, Claressa Shields, escalated into insults and threats on social media over the last few days.
As mentioned, Angela Yee was the one who shared the update following Remy Ma and Papoose’s virtual court hearing on Friday (September 11) morning. The ‘Wanna Go’ rapper first revealed the hearing on Thursday while appearing to throw shade at her estranged husband and Claressa Shields. She shared a selfie video on Instagram, captioning it, “Sidebar: Only thing that can play in my face is this sun RemFunFact: Court TOMORROW 9:30 am Ayo Pap prove ya luvpleaseeeeee.”
In Yee’s update, reportedly from exclusive sources, she said that Remy Ma requested dismissal of the divorce complaint. The judge allegedly denied the motion. Yee added that “the divorce proceedings remain ongoing” and there’s no resolution in the matter. At this time, it’s unclear why Remy Ma requested the dismissal. However, the radio host explained that it could be for a number of reasons, from procedural errors to shifting legal strategy. See what else Yee revealed about the divorce proceedings. Remy Ma hasn’t again addressed the divorce court proceedings on social media. Papoose hasn’t either and his boo, Claressa, has also been silent on what went down during the virtual hearing. However, Rem circled back to tease a new project. This time, as said, she teamed up with vocalist Keke Wyatt to deliver the track ‘Why Did I Get Married.’ The song is not out yet, but on X the rapper teased the visual and urged fans to pre-save. She also announced a fan experience that includes an exclusive watch party and special fan moments.
Tension between Remy Ma and Claressa Shields can be traced back to 2024, when the rapper first exposed the boxer’s relationship with Papoose. But since July, things have seemingly been escalating between the estranged wife and years-long girlfriend. Rem has dropped at least two tracks, ‘W.F.Y.L.’ and ‘Wanna Go,’ that fans have dubbed disses aimed at Papoose and Claressa. Ma even used a video of Shields to promote the latter track last month. Most recently, Shields popped off in an apparent response to Remy Ma linking up with two of her rival boxers. In social media posts, the boxer spoke of “loser b****es” and “weak a*s h*es” linking up. The rapper later clapped back, appearing to call Pap and his new bae, “Mr. & Mrs. Panini Pressed.” Then, Thursday evening, she challenged her estranged husband to prove his love by signing the divorce papers during their hearing, which as said, took place today.
And if you though tensions simmered after that, think again! Claressa kept the fire burning after sharing photos of her and Papoose, claiming they’re “in these NEW YORK streets” together.
Then, late Thursday, Remy Ma and Claressa Shields kept the online exchange going. They both came for each other’s necks on X, sliding into each other’s mentions to directly deliver the heat! After Claressa shared a tweet about “laughing all day,” Remy Ma replied by calling the boxer ugly and accusing her of always lying.
“U been CRYING the past 20 months – mad cuz LEGALLY Im still the wife B**CH ME TOO! SIGN THE PAPERS PAPURSE! Got me dealing with this slow a*s crackbaby talkin bout u n the NY streets, u n a HOEtel cuz yall scared im gonna pull up again #FreeRemy,” the rapper wrote.
Claressa replied with a TikTok video claiming that Ma is obsessed with her. Also, she called the rapper a female dog while saying she’s at her man’s house and denying that Ma has ever pulled up on her. Shields also called the estranged wife a “coke head” who is mad Papoose “filed for divorce on [her] no good a*s.”
Ma also hopped under a second tweet of Claressa Shields, in which the boxer said, “Laughing some more whooo !!!! Pressed!!!!!!”In her reply, Remy shared a video recording of her and Claressa’s DM exchanges over the years. The rapper accused the boxer of “meat surfing” her for years.
