Safaree Samuels had some things to get off his chest while he recently chatted with Keyshia Ka’oir. The rapper and reality star appeared on her podcast and spoke about his stance with ex-wife and co-parent Erica Mena.
The exes have been at it since their divorce and custody battle over their children. Things boiled over in October when he exposed home footage of her trespassing his home.

Safaree Samuels Speaks On Marrying Erica Mena
Keyshia Ka’oir didn’t waste any time grilling Safaree about the viral footage he dropped on YouTube back in October. In the viral clip, Erica Mena scaled a ladder to allegedly break into his house. Keyshia had one big question: where in the world did Erica even get that ladder?
In his interview, Safaree confirmed that he had an electrician at his house the day Erica arrived. After finishing the job, the electrician left the ladder outside, which is how Erica got her hands on it. When asked if Erica often tries to break in Safaree said it happened “that time.” Safaree shared that he’s glad he finally spoke up about his drama with Erica Mena. He said he usually keeps quiet, but he hit his breaking point. He believes his YouTube story time video made waves and made people say, “I get it now.”
Samuels also admitted he married Erica because he was ready for that chapter in his life. However, he added that he believes he rushed his relationship with Erica. “I wish I would’ve taken more time,” he explained.
Safaree Speaks On His Bond With His Kids
In his chat with Keyshia Ka’oir, Safaree kept it real about his relationship with his son, Legend, and daughter, Safire. He admitted that he’s waiting on the court to settle custody arrangements for them. He’s uncomfortable picking up the kids from her home, he said.
“I want it to be like okay if it’s Fridays I pick them up from school, then Monday’s I bring them back to school and then it’s like okay that’s what it’s going to be,” Safaree explained.
Additionally, the ‘Love and Hip Hop’ star revealed that the last time he saw his kids was “four months ago” and not being with them often “does bother him.” He also shared how he feels about the internet labeling him as a “deadbeat dad.”
“I really don’t let it to get me, because I know what’s really going on and you know, deadbeats ain’t paying what I’m paying in lawyer fees. It’s so expensive and I hate it so much and I just want it to be black and white, ‘hey look, let’s just let it be this.’ The only people that are benefiting from this are the lawyers.”
Safaree Speaks On Why He Decided To Attend Nicki Minaj’s Concert
Safaree Samuels also spoke on another recent viral moment: attending Nicki Minaj’s ‘Pink Friday 2’ tour in Miami, Florida. He revealed he wasn’t trolling when he decided to go to Gag City. Instead, he actually wanted to see her perform. He also said Nicki’s show was lit, and he had an amazing time.
“I’m not a jealous person. I’m not no hater, cause I’m still doing good I don’t gotta worry about nothing. I don’t need you for nothing,” Safaree explained.
