Change Of Heart! Snoop Dogg Says He Has Nothing But “Love And Respect” For Donald Trump

Snoop Dogg may not have been Donald Trump’s biggest fan in the past.

But it appears he has considerably switched up his tune. In a new interview, the rapper praised the former president, saying he has nothing but “love and respect” for him.

Snoop Dogg Shares His Thoughts On Trump

Uncle Snoop had frequently expressed his opposing stance on Trump over the years, using his music to voice his disagreement with the then-president.

However, his perspective on the New Yorker has seemingly changed. “Donald Trump? He ain’t done nothing wrong to me,” he told the UK’s Sunday Times.

“He has done only great things for me. So I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump.”

Snoop’s thoughts on Trump may come as a surprise to fans, given their history. Back in 2017, the Dogg Father dropped his video to his song, ‘Lavender.’

Snoop Dogg stirred up controversy and subsequent backlash over a scene where he pointed a toy gun at a Donald look-alike wearing an orange mask, per USA Today.

The clip sparked outrage, prompting the president to speak out, condemning Snoop’s actions.

“Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time,” he tweeted.

But the ‘Sensual Seduction’ rapper remained unfazed and continued publicly coming for Trump.

In November 2018, he posted a video of himself smoking cannabis in front of the White House and sending the president a message.

“I’m at the White House having a smoke. F*** the president,” the rapper said.

Snoop Thanks Trump For Pardoning His Longtime Friend

But in 2021, things appeared to have changed after Trump pardoned Michael “Harry-O” Harris, the co-founder of Snoop’s label, Death Row Records.

Harris, who was sentenced to 25 years to life, had already served 30 years on conspiracy charges and attempted murder, per Fox News.

Snoop Dogg, who hadn’t spoken highly of Donald before this incident, commended him for freeing his longtime friend.

Following his friend’s release in January 2021, the Grammy winner took to Instagram to share the moment he was reunited with the music executive.

The caption said, “Welcome home big o. Bossangelos boss bac home wit da dogg. Thank u @realdonaldtrump.”

He reiterated his positive thoughts on Trump’s actions in an interview with the New York Post in 2021.

“That’s great work for the president and his team on the way out. They did some great work while they was in there and they did some great work on their way out. Let them know that I love what they did,”

Shortly after his release, Harris also thanked Trump as he celebrated his newfound freedom.

“I appreciate Donald Trump, his children, his son-in-law. Whyever [sic] he did it, he did it when so many others wouldn’t,” he told the Daily Mail.
