One would think that it’s a bad idea to climb inside of an exhibit for a wild animal while visiting the zoo. However, one woman thought it was a good idea to climb inside of the lion exhibit while visiting the Bronx Zoo in New York.
According to CNN, the zoo says the woman trespassed when she made a visit on Saturday, putting her life in danger. A spokesperson for the zoo spoke out about the matter and said, “This action was a serious violation and unlawful trespass that could have resulted in serious injury or death. Barriers and rules are in place to keep both visitors, staff, and animals safe. We have a zero-tolerance policy on trespass and violation of barriers.”
According to the New York Police Department, the Bronx Zoo filed a complaint for criminal trespass.
Thankfully, the woman nor the lion was injured during the incident, but at the moment it’s unclear how she got over the barrier, and how long she was in the exhibit.
In the viral video, the woman can be seen standing in front of the lion while dancing.
