The Navy Has Now Approved For Servicewomen To Wear Their Natural Hairstyles

The #Navy has finally joined the #naturalhair movement by allowing sistas to rock their natural hair how they please!

Yeoman First Class LaToya Jones announced the new policy during a Facebook Live event on Tuesday. According to @Ebony, locs, braids, twists and wider hair buns are now allowed. Ponytails can also be worn while in uniform.

“I think it’s a step forward,” Lt. Cmdr. Jess Cameron told the AP. “They’re getting more female feedback in the service and updating what I think are somewhat antiquated guidelines that maybe no longer serve their purpose in today’s society, today’s military.”

Now the Navy is caught up with the Marines who approved natural hairstyles in 2015 and the Army who approved them in 2017.

What are your thoughts, Roommates?
