Fans and supporters are heartbroken after learning that TikTok influencer Malik Taylor has died at the age of 28. According to TMZ, Taylor was killed in a vehicle accident in North Carolina earlier this week.
On Wednesday, Aug. 20, Taylors business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi at Austin Peay State University, confirmed his passing in a Facebook statement. The post honored him as someone who was “always bringing laughter, joy, and a warm smile that brightened every room he entered.”
Since then, more details have emerged about the TikTok star’s tragic accident. TMZ reported that Taylor was found dead on Wednesday morning after his Nissan Rogue went off the roadway, plunging nearly two dozen feet. Police confirmed the 28-year-old content creator died at the scene from blunt-force trauma.
The social media star, known for his pop culture commentary and comedic videos, had just marked two milestones. One day before news of his death, Taylor uploaded a TikTok discussing his recent move to Charlotte, N.C. Fans have since filled the post’s comments with condolences, noting it is now his final video.
Last month, Taylor celebrated his 28th birthday on July 2, posting to Instagram: “Survived the 27 club (barely). Only right I celebrate my 28th like its the party of the century. Call me Malik Gatsby Cheers to the rest of my roaring 20s Old Sport ”
News of Taylors death sparked an outpouring of grief across social media. Fans flooded The Shade Rooms comment section with love, memories and condolences.
