#TSRPositiveImages: Kanye West Donates $150,000 To The Family Of Jemel Roberson

#Roommates, many were outraged by the story of Jemel Roberson, the 26-year-old #Chicago security guard who was mistakenly fatally shot by an officer responding to a bar shooting.

There was an outpouring of condolences to Jemels family and people were compelled to donate to the familys gofundme account, including none other than Chicagos own Kanye West.

Ye dropped $150,000 to support the family, according to People. A fan account screenshot Kanyes 10 $15,000 donations and shared it on social media. Jemels mother has filed a lawsuit against the officer who took her sons life, saying that the shooting was excessive and unreasonable, according to court documents.

Aside from suing the officer, Jemels mother is also suing the Village of Midlothian and wants around $1 million for damages.

As we previously reported, the aspiring cop and father to a 9-month-old son was doing his job at Mannys Blue Room Bar Sunday in Chicago when a couple of customers got a little too drunk and got kicked out. They ended up coming back with guns and fired off a couple rounds.

Jemel ended up shooting back at the men and was able to catch one of the men.

He put his knee on the suspects back and had his gun facing him so he wouldnt move. When the officer responding to the 911 call arrived on the scene, he shot and killed Jemel.

One of the people who witnessed the tragic shooting told TMZ that the officer saw a black man with a gun, and basically killed him.

The sheriffs department has opened up a criminal investigation on the matter while so many continue to plead for justice.

As the investigation continues, as well as the progress on the lawsuits, well be sure to keep you updated on this story, #Roommates!
