Diddy‘s prison release date was reportedly moved up…. again. The music mogul is currently serving a 50-month sentence in New Jersey at FCI Fort Dix, and fans had mixed reactions to the news.
TMZ reported on Tuesday, September 29, that Diddy’sprison release date had been moved up again.The Shade Room reported that Diddy was sentenced to 50 months in prison for violating the Mann Act.
Diddy was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution but acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering. In addition, Diddy was sentenced to five years of supervised release and a $500,000 fine. The conviction stemmed from a sexual assault lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, back in 2024.
The lawsuit revealed sex parties hosted by Diddy called freak-offs, in which the former couple engaged in sexual acts with sex workers. A viral video of Diddy beating Ventura in a hotel hallway also surfaced, and Diddy immediately settled the lawsuit while denying the sexual assault accusations. However, he apologized for beating Ventura.
Diddy was most recently expected to be released from prison in February 2028. However, according to TMZ, the new release date is now January 21, 2028. Why the Federal Bureau of Prisons moved up Diddy’s latest release date is unknown. However, according to the Miami Herald, good behavior, time served, and inmates participating in Evidence-Based Recidivism Reduction or Productive Activities could be reasons for an early release date.
The Shade Room previously reported that Diddy was originally sentenced to 50 months in prison back in October 2025. However, since he’d already been locked up for one year, he was expected to serve about three more years.
Diddy’s release date was pushed back twice once in November 2025 for consuming alcohol, and once in August 2026 following a prison fight.
Fans reacted to Diddy receiving multiple release dates, and many had opinions as to why the music mogul’s prison sentence keeps getting shorter and shorter. Other folks had jokes.
On TMZ, wrote, “Johnson & Johnson is excited! With Diddy out their baby oil sales are going up again. He is gonna be buying bulk .”
