Justin Bieber fans took to social media with their frustrations after the pop star announced that he was cancelling his upcoming shows due to battling a sickness. In a video posted to Instagram on Friday, JB detailed the seriousness of his condition, revealing that one half of his face is temporarily paralyzed.
Bieber shared that he was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome–a condition that occurs when a severe virus impacts the nerves in ones ears and face. The video shows one only side of Justin’s face functioning normally as he explains the severity the virus.
As you can see, this eye is not blinking. I can’t smile on this side of my face. This nostril will not move, so there’s full paralysis in this side of my face. So those who are frustrated by my cancellations of the next shows, I’m just physically obviously not capable of doing them. This is pretty serious as you can see. I wish this wasn’t the case.
While Justin stressed the importance of rest to aid in his recovery, he assured fans that his face will eventually go back to normal. He also revealed he has been doing facial exercises, but is unclear how long he’ll be out of commission.
I love you guys, thanks for being patient with me. And uh, I’m gonna get better. And I’m doing all these face exercises to get my face back to normal and it will go back to normal. It’s just time, and we don’t know how much time it’s gonna be but it’s gonna be okay. And i have hope, and I trust God and I trust that this is all for a reason.”
The Biebers also asked for prayers back in April after Justin’s wife Hailey revealed she was hospitalized after suffering from a stroke. Send Justin love and well wishes during this time, Roomies.
