18-Year-Old Allegedly Helped Daejon Love Fake Millions in Investment Gains | TSR Investigates

Daejon Love’s federal case alleges a romance scam involving 26 women, fake investment accounts, multiple identities, and more than $1.3 million in losses. TSR Investigates’ Justin Carter breaks down the new evidence. Federal investigators allege Love used dating apps including Tinder, Bumble, Hinge and Facebook Dating to develop romantic relationships with women before convincing them to invest or loan him money. According to the federal complaint, Love allegedly used multiple names, including Jon Love, Daejon Love, Avril Lyto Love and Jordan Love, and presented himself as an NFL player, a wealthy Swiss heir and a successful investor. Investigators also allege Love used fake bank-account applications and manipulated investment screenshots to make it appear that he had millions of dollars. In one alleged instance, a victim was shown an account balance of more than $30 million. The complaint says at least 26 women in California and Oregon were victims, with some allegedly sending thousands of dollars through Apple Pay, Western Union and other payment services. Investigators also allege Love worked with 18-year-old Taylor Chan, who allegedly posed as a financial adviser and helped present fake investment information to victims. Justin Carter also examines financial records, online purchases and messages that investigators say helped establish an alleged conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Love is facing federal charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud, while Chan faces the same charges. Both are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
