Ever since Scottie Pippen filed for a divorce from his wife of 20 years, Larsa Pippen, it’s been speculated that it was due to a “cozy” friendship between Lara’s and rapper Future. Both parties have dispelled the rumors, but now a rep for Larsa has set the record straight. It turns out that the divorce filing was allegedly centered around a new job offer that Scottie got in Chicago.
“I believe he took a new job in Chicago working with ESPN as an analyst for the Chicago Bulls,” the rep told Page Six. “It’s a job-related thing, and he’s always preferred Chicago over Miami, so that’s always been an issue, but that’s nothing new. He wants to reside fully in Chicago and she loves Miami. They’ve been texting nonstop. And she’s like, ‘Is this really how it’s going to end? We’ve been through so much together.’ She was a little bit caught off guard [by his divorce filing].”
The rep also adds that they believe that the couple will definitely make up. “I’m fairly certain they’re going to make up . . . He’s sending her messages. They’re communicating. I don’t think they’re going to pull the trigger. He was saying, ‘I miss you. Let’s talk.’ She’s feeling the same way. When it rains, it pours, but Scottie’s at a different place. She’s at a different place, and they’re just figuring it out.”
In addition to all of this, a source close to Scottie says that the NBA star just grown weary of his wife’s relationship with the Kardashians and is ready for a fresh start. “Scottie hates this whole ‘Kardashian Instagram lifestyle.’ [Larsa is] all about clubs and rappers and DJs. He just wants out of that world,” the source said. They also added that Pippen “just wants to play golf and stay low-key,” and that “He’s afraid of all the gossip that comes with that Kardashian world she’s in.”
We really hope that these two can pull through! It looks like they just have a simple decision to make.
