Back in October rapper Bobby Shmurda was sentenced to seven years in jail for murder conspiracy. Recently he was faced with a charge after allegedly being found with a shank behind bars.
However, his lawyer may have a new opportunity to reduce his time.
According to TMZ, Bobby Shmurda attended court on Tuesday with his lawyer, Alex Spiro. Prosecutors are reportedly offering him a chance to plead guilty to a reduced charge of “attempted promoting prison contraband.”
If he does accept, he can get one to four years. He is already serving seven years for murder conspiracy, but if he takes the plea deal, the one to four years “will run concurrently,” with his existing seven years.
There is no word on whether or not he will accept the deal, but a source revealed to TMZ that his family, lawyers and friends are pushing for him to take the deal.
He has some time to make a decision, as his next hearing is scheduled for January 7th.
