Kevin Hart Roasts Katt Williams On 'NBA Unplugged' Amid Dispute

Kevin Hart Roasts Katt Williams On ‘NBA Unplugged’ Over His Recent Comments About Him In Viral Interview

It looks as if Kevin Hart wasn’t done addressing Katt Williams over his recent remarks about him in his viral interview.

On Friday (January 5), Hart joined the Plastic Cup Boyz on ‘NBA Unplugged’ as they commentated on the New York Knicks’ game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Kevin Hart Issues Another Response To Katt Williams

Before the game could begin, however, the ‘Knight School’ actor decided to take some light-hearted jabs at Williams, who’s been the topic of discussion all week.

On Wednesday (January 3), the ‘Pimp Chronicles’ star didn’t hold back as he roasted his comedic peers, including Hart, on Shannon Sharpe‘s ‘Club Shay Shay’ podcast.

Williams considered Hart an industry puppet with highly inflated career statistics and added that he wasn’t a great comedian either.

While Hart initially addressed the comments in a tweet shared to his X account on Thursday (January 4), the conversation continued over on ‘NBA Unplugged.’

“Another fun fact about the New York Knicks, I don’t know if you guys know this, but Katt Williams bought the Knicks, and it’s rumored that he took the Knicks back, returned them with a receipt,” Hart joked with his friends. “He’s the first person to ever do that. He bought them for 15 days and returned them. That’s another fun fact about the New York Knicks.”

Hart made another joke about Williams’ claim on Sharpe’s podcast that he read 3,000 books as a child. The ‘Jumanji’ star jokingly quipped that Delaware State University accepted the 52-year-old at the age of 7, but it never made the news.

Hart continued with the jokes, telling his co-hosts that his fellow comedian has a basketball court in his living room, making him the first person to “embrace hardwood floor.”

What Did Katt Williams Say About Kevin Hart?

Williams’ comments about him on Sharpe’s podcast seemed to have left quite a lasting impression on him – and understandably so.

Williams accused Hart of never having performed at a sold-out comedy gig, in addition to being called an industry plant.

“In 15 years in Hollywood, no one in Hollywood has a memory of going to a sold-out Kevin Hart show, there being a line for him, ever getting a standing ovation at any comedy club,” the Cincinnati native disputed.

Williams asserted that every film Hart appeared in over a five-year period was first offered to him. But since he didn’t like taking on “overtly homosexual” roles, Hollywood studios ended up passing the offer down to Hart instead, per Vulture.

“For a five-year period, every single movie that Kevin Hart did was a movie that had been on my desk that all I had said was just, ‘Can we take some of this Stepin Fetchit sh*t out and then I can do it.'”

When Hart came across the remarks, he hopped onto Twitter to issue a short response while plugging his upcoming movie.

His initial reaction was giving unbothered as he told Williams to “get that anger up outcha champ, it’s honestly sad.”

The almost three-hour-long interview on Sharpe’s podcast this week has already amassed a colossal 22 million views since its release on Wednesday, sparking a chain reaction among the comedians he mentioned in the interview.

From Michael Blackson to Cedric the Entertainer and Tiffany Haddishand even Ludacris – it appeared as if everybody had something to say, showing just how impactful his words were.
