June 4 marked the end of the temporary restraining orderHalle Bailey got against DDG. A judge had appointed her temporary legal and physical custody of their son, Halo, amid the mother’s allegations of physical and emotional abuse. She was also granted permission to travel with the 1-year-old to Italy for work. Early June 4, DDG clapped back with his own restraining order and travel ban request. Early reports suggested the judge denied the TRO, but DDG’s lawyer has since confirmed that it was partially granted.

What’s Going On With Halle & DDG?
The father’s declaration and documented screenshots didn’t spare any details. Darryl dug deep into their history, citing multiple incidents of abuse, violence, tracking, and suicidal language before and after Halo’s birth in December 2023. Also, he attached screenshots of texts Bailey allegedly sent between 2022 and 2025. His mother, Tonya Granberry, and her fiancé also submitted declarations citing witnessed incidents between Halle and DDG.
Given the content of Darryl’s petitions, social media hasn’t backed off the topic yet, especially after the judge gave him a partial win. A judge ruled on June 5 that Halle cannot perpetrate any physical or verbal abuse toward her ex-boyfriend. Halo, however, will remain in her custody until June 24 and is allowed to travel internationally with her.
In the meantime, here’s a deeper look at 10 bombshell allegations DDG made against his ex-girlfriend and the alleged evidence he provided.
1. DDG Restraining Order Reveals First Break-Up In February 2022
For context, dating rumors about Halle and Darryl started in Janaury 2022, after they popped out to an Usher residency show together. By the following month, DDG claims Bailey had become aggressive and hostile about his working relationship with other women.
His declaration cited an incident during Grammy weekend in February 2022. However, the dates do not align, given that the award show took place on April 3 that year. For clarity, the Grammys only happened in February during the years 2023 and 2024. Halle and DDG walked the red carpet together in 2024.
In his court docs, DDG claimed Bailey allegedly got upset over him texting a previous girlfriend. Again, he cited the incident date as “Grammy weekend in February 2022.” He alleged that she retaliated by texting a man at 2:00 a.m. to meet, and he sought to end the relationship.
DDG says she continued pursuing him, and he eventually agreed to rekindle. However, he claims things spiraled again soon after escalating to “verbal abuse” and “physical aggression.” He added that she continued to accuse him of cheating during projects with female talent. The tension, he says, disrupted his “peace of mind and emotional calm.”
2. Rekindled Relationship With Halle “Quickly Became Volatile”
His declaration claims the relationship with Halle Bailey took a volatile turn almost immediately. DDG said their time together included “repeated arguments, threats, and physical altercations.” In March 2022, DDG went Instagram official with Halle with a now-deleted post for her birthday on the 27th.
Days before, though, they allegedly had an intense text conversation. Exhibit 4 in DDG’s restraining order includes dated texts from March 10, 2022, at 6:46 p.m., in which Halle asked DDG why he left. He replied, “I’m done with the threats.” She then sent two file attachments of unknown content before texting him to “answer the f**king phone” twice and threatening to end the relationship if he didn’t.
After about 15 minutes, he said, “I just want to be left alone, please.” She immediately responded, “I have a knife,” and twice said she was calling for help, adding “but y don’t care do u” in another message.
He responded, “HAVE A KNIFE FOR WHAT.” Timestamped texts from about 40 minutes later show Bailey accusing DDG of not caring. “Whatever I decide to do is none of your concern,” she wrote at 7:45 p.m., adding, “Just leave me in peace.”
DDG then responded two minutes later, saying that he “came there” to check on her. “For you to act like your gonna hurt yourself to make me feel some type of way is manipulative and selfish. I never thought u would do nothing like that,” he wrote.
She then told him that she didn’t expect him to leave, and what she decides to do is her business. “Don’t feel sad either it’s cool,” Bailey allegedly wrote. To that, DDG accused his ex of playing a childish, push-and-pull game after telling him to leave. “You keep threatening to leave me alone and saying you fw somebody else. I’m not sticking around for that.”
3. Bailey Allegedly Threatened Self-Harm & Spoke Of Dying In 2022-2025
2022: Several months into the public relationship, threats of self-harm continued, per DDG. Exhibit 5 in his restraining order included text screenshots from August 23, 2022. In them, DDG admits to swerving calls, telling Halle he won’t ruin his day and that the “trust issues are becoming overwhelming.” He talked about having related disagreements “every other day,” despite focusing his time and energy on her happiness.
“And in your eyes, you’re never wrong. It’s frustrating, and I’m over it. I’m no longer entertaining this argument,” DDG wrote, adding that he’d take her advice of becoming more successful “like Jay-Z.” He also stated that she frequently downplays his dreams. In her responses, Halle said she won’t beg him, alleged that he demeans her, and that he enjoys her insecurity. A slew of texts then read: “Keep your phone on airplane mode but when I die don’t say sh*t. Don’t come to my funeral or anything. F*ck u. Be happy that these are the last texts u get from me.” Then, in nine minutes, Bailey flooded him with texts about him not wanting her, his family hating her, etc. “I will go and fly and be just fine in heaven without any of this without any of you rude a*s people making me feel bad about myself,” Halle allegedly wrote.
2023: In text screenshots from February 9, DDG tells Halle, “Hurting yourself won’t fix anything. The internet shit is irrelevant. It’s fixed already.”

2023: On June 5, while pregnant with Halo, Bailey allegedly texted him, “Just leave me here to die” amid a series of other texts.
Days later, on June 16, DDG alleges Halle appeared at a movie theater he had attended with a female friend. He said he had to restrain a pregnant Bailey to prevent her from harming herself or his friend in a physical confrontation. DDG added that Halle verbally assaulted him and his “long-standing, strictly platonic friend.” His filing included screenshots of texts from Halle on June 17, 2023, in which she admitted to catching him “with another girl” the night before. In that same text, she accused him of stealing her car, to which he later replied, “How come u can take my things & I can’t take yours.” Then, he offered to return her car keys in exchange for his laptop.
On June 28, 2023, there were allegedly more messages about self-harm exchanged. She wrote at 8:19 p.m., “If I die, you wouldn’t even care.” A minute later, Darry responded:
“I would u just tripping & keep threatening to kill my unborn son. You’re weird. I wouldn’t feel safe having a child with u at this point,” adding in another text, “Stop being fake happy to be a mom.”

2024: On August 5, 2024, Halle allegedly texted DDG requesting “help” and asking him to pick up Halo because she was “not okay” and didn’t want their son seeing that. When he agreed to come, she sent several other texts that led him to ask if he should. When she suggested self-harm, by writing, “There’s proof everything that I tried to reach out for help…before this…Before I did this,” DDG again said he was on his way to pick up Halo.
2025: In texts from February 27, DDG accuses Halle of having a phone conversation about “girls” and not their son. She writes back, “Every day I want to die because of the way you embarrass me online and allow other women to speak on me.” Bailey adds that her love for Halo is the reason she will “keep going.” He denies her claims of disrespect.

4. Bailey Allegedly Threatened Streamer With Abortion Of Halo, Began 2-Pill Process
One of DDG’s bullet points claimed that Halle Bailey weaponized her 2023 pregnancy, which the ex-couple kept out of the spotlight.
“Petitioner weaponized our pregnancy, demanding reconciliation or placing me in the impossible situation of being threatened that she would abort our baby should I not reconcile or accede to her demands,” DDG’s declaration said.
Darryl claims that he learned in June 2023 that Halle had tried to terminate her pregnancy without his knowledge or consent after their previous agreement to parent together. DDG says Halle told him she was bleeding and in pain on or about June 6. After he contacted her doctor, he learned she had taken one dose of the two abortion pills.
When he confronted her, DDG said she threatened to follow through with the abortion if they didn’t rekindle. “This was the most troubling of her attempts to control me coercively,” he stated in his declaration. He said he cut ties with her afterward, but that they reconciled after learning the child was unharmed by the termination dose. He said he hoped to ” create a stable environment” for Halo. However, DDG alleges the threats of abortion continued (see #4 for text example).

5. Streamer Seemingly Details Two Stolen Gun Incidents, Includes Dated Texts
We must note that DDG’s petition presented two incidents involving a gun.
His declaration says that in August 2023, before Halo’s birth, Halle Bailey took his legally owned, loaded gun out of his home without his consent and threatened to end her life. Darryl said he contacted his mother, Tonya, who came to the house with her fiancé, George, to help de-escalate the situation. George allegedly found Halle with the firearm and safely retrieved it. DDG’s declaration states that Halle then ran upstairs, locked herself in a bathroom, and lay on the floor “in an emotionally unstable state.” Granberry Jr. says the incident is an example of Bailey threatening his and Halo’s safety.
Meanwhile, dated text screenshots from May 12, 2024, show DDG’s alleged messages to Halle starting at 10:00 p.m. In them, he pleaded for her to return his firearm and warned that he would call the police. One of his messages was a photo of him and Halo with the follow-up comments: “You’re going to him go through life without a mom? I have to call the police. I can’t let this happen.”

6. DDG Claims Halle Caused Her Chipped Tooth In January 2025
Another incident of physical abuse occurred on Janaury 18, 2025. On that day, DDG says Halle struck him while he was parked in his vehicle outside of her home. He was at the location for a custody exchange. Halle’s now-expired restraining order alleged that she and Darryl had “fought each other,” and were wrestling and tussling in the car, when he allegedly pulled her hair, and slammed her face into the steering wheel.
Darryl’s order paints a different picture, accusing Halle of making false claims about the pick-up. He said she got in his backseat unexpectedly after strapping Halo in his car seat for an overnight stay with Dad. Bailey allegedly initiated the physical altercation after she tried to force a conversation about visitation. DDG says he called his mom and repeatedly asked Halle to leave his car. Instead, he noted Halle proceeded to hit him from the backseat “by launching herself over the center console into the front seat” to punch him. He claims her “own momentum” caused her to hit her head on the steering wheel.
“At no point did I strike her. In fact, I attempted to shield myself by restraining her arms to prevent further punches.”
He attached photos (Exhibit 3) showing a bloody wound on his hand from the altercation. He said he drove home with Halle in his car and took Halo inside upon arrival. Bailey spoke to his family outside, and then DDG’s sister drove her home. He claims she did not leave in hysteria, as she recalled in her restraining order from May.

7. DDG Says Halle Uses Access To Halo To Attempt To Control Him
Darryl added that after Halo was born on December 22, 2023, Bailey began using the child to “exert coercive control and manipulation” over him. He claimed Halle limits his time with Halo when she refuses to accept her “demands.” The streamer accused Bailey of being “retaliatory.” He stated that behavior occurs when she has failed to control his “streaming content and associations,” or when he refuses her requests to rekindle their relationship. Despite other attempts at reconciling, DDG claims that Bailey’s behavior has escalated to “physical violence, emotional manipulation, threats of self-harm, and coercive control.”

8. Halle Bailey Threatened Self-Harm One Month Before Revealing PPD Struggle In 2024
As previously reported, texts from March 2024 show Halle Bailey allegedly accusing DDG of having sexual intercourse with an influencer in Mexico, and feeling hurt over the alleged encounter. The texted conversation, per timestamps, appeared to have begun in the morning and seeped into the evening.
In the early afternoon, she texted DDG about openly flirting with other women, except her, and said he hated her and wants her to die. “I want to die because of you…I will die because of you,” she wrote in texts, adding, “It’s your fault.” He later asked why these conversations are daily, and in a 12:29 p.m. message, she admits, “U [KNOW] I M ACTIVELY SUICIDAL AND STRUGGLING.”
In the evening, the actor pleaded with DDG to take Halo, seemingly appearing with the infant at the streamer’s home. She also informed DDG of potential self-harm, explicitly texting that she would “kill” herself that night (March 21). In his reply texts, DDG refused to allow Halle inside his home due to his concern about her being around guns.
One month later, in April, Halle shared with her Snapchat followers that she had been battling severe postpartum depression and that DDG was an “amazing daddy” and support system through it.

9. DDG & His Mother Claim Halle Bailey Tracked Him With AirTags
DDG also alleged in his restraining order that Halle used Apple AirTags to stalk and monitor his whereabouts during her pregnancy and afterward. She allegedly hid the devices in all three of his vehicles. He, his mother, her fiancé, George, and even a close female friend discovered devices in multiple spaces, including inside a vitamin bottle in his trunk and in a baby bottle holder.
DDG’s mother, Tonya, backed up his claims in her declaration, and George did the same in a separate declaration. More details below:
10. Alleged Halle Bailey Texts Accuses DDG Of Having Sex With Influencer Lala Baptiste
On the same day Halle Bailey allegedly threatened self-harm (March 21), she also accused DDG of having sexual intercourse with Lala Baptiste. Bailey texted her ex-boyfriend, “HOW [COULD] U GO TO MEXICO AND BE WITH SOMEONE ELSE??” at 12:31 p.m. on 3/21/2024, per court docs.
Halle allegedly followed up with “I JUST [FOUND OUT] U [SLEPT WITH] LALA IN MEXICO,” on the same day at 11:09 p.m. Within the same minute, she allegedly wrote, “I’M [GOING] TO KILL [MYSELF] TONIGHT.” Two minutes later, Bailey sent two additional texts. The first one at 11:10 p.m. read, “YOU CAN HAVE HIM AND LET HER BE HIS MOM” and the second one at 11:11 p.m. said, “YOU PUT UR PENIS INSIDE OF HER IN MEXICO.”
At 11:11 p.m., she allegedly sent additional texts, accusing DDG of being “selfish,” “disgusting,” and “evil.” She admitted to “crying” before the streamer left for Mexico, and accused him of being on vacation, having sex while she was taking care of Halo.
It’s worth noting that Lala Baptiste has since denied having any sexual history with DDG. She also admitted to having a private conversation with Halle about the misunderstanding, but did not reveal what was said. Recap Of DDG's Restraining Order Demands About Halo
As mentioned, Darryl argued in his petition that Halle is a risk to Halo based on repeated, documented threats of self-harm. He asked the court to prevent Halle from traveling to Italy with Halo on June 7 for a scheduled work gig. Additionally, DDG wanted Bailey to turn over the child’s passport to his lawyer by June 16 and asked the judge to limit her travels with Halo to California.
Though he agreed to professionally supervised visitation between Halle and Halo, DDG also requested sole custody of the 1-year-old. His restraining order also sought for Halle to remain 100 yards from him, not seek his address or location, and demanded she attend a weekly batterer intervention program for one year.
