Halle Bailey and DDG dominated headlines on Wednesday (June 5) for their restraining order filings against each other in the last month. Yesterday, DDG filed his account of co-parenting concerns regarding their son, Halo. He requested full custody and sought to ban Bailey from taking Halo to Italy for a film project.
An initial report from TMZ said a judge blocked the father’s temporary restraining order (TRO). Ahead of that, Halle’s lawyer called out the timing of DDG’s restraining order and petition. However, according to the streamer’s lawyer and new reports, there has been a new development about the TRO.
Judge Denies Travel Ban Petition
Hours after DDG filed against her on June 4, Halle filed a clapback petition. She reportedly questioned the timing of his filing, and claimed he’s ignored efforts since May 13 for monitored visits with their son. There are no additional details about what those “efforts” were. Bailey’s clapback petition asked for permission to travel internationally for work. She also asked the judge to prevent DDG, his family, and associates from posting about her, Halo, or their ongoing court cases on social media.
On May 13, a judge granted Halle temporary sole legal custody of Halo and a restraining order barring DDG from being within 100 yards of her. In her paperwork, she alleged physical and verbal abuse and accused her ex of riling up his fanbase to send her online hate. She was scheduled to travel to Italy with Halo for a two-month gig on Saturday, June 7.
Halo’s dad filed his response petition on the day Halle’s TRO expired —June 4. On June 5, at 9:42 a.m., TMZ reported that a judge blocked the request to halt Halle Bailey’s travel plans with Halo. Bailey will be allowed to leave the country, to Italy, with their child for personal or business reasons.
UPDATE: Details About DDG’s Partial Restraining Order Against Bailey
Billboard reports that Judge Latrice A.G. Byrdsong partially granted a temporary restraining order on Wednesday evening. Bailey cannot engage in any physical or emotional abuse against DDG. However, Halo will remain in her custody until the parents’ next hearing on June 24. Again, Halle can still travel to Italy with Halo.
“The court finds insufficient evidence of imminent emotional and psychological risk to the minor child during petitioner’s business trip to Italy,” wrote the judge. “Further evidence is required at a noticed hearing for the court to issue more restrictive orders.”
Additionally, DDG’s lawyer confirmed the update in a new statement to XXL. The attorney added that DDG is committed to resolving the matters concerning Halo through legal channels and not the “court of public opinion.” Swipe below to see the statement details.

What Were DDG's Demands Regarding Halo?
In his domestic violence restraining order request, reviewed by The Shade Room, Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. asserted that Halle poses an:
“…imminent emotional and psychological risk to the minor child based on repeated, documented threats of self-harm.”
He sought to limit her travel to California and required her to turn in Halo’s passport to his lawyer, Larry Bakman, by June 16. If the judge granted travel, DDG asked that Bailey share Halo’s travel schedule, copies of round-trip airline tickets, addresses, phone numbers to reach him, and an open airline ticket for DDG in case Halle doesn’t return Halo.
The father also declared his belief that Bailey could abduct Halo. That belief is allegedly based on a history of: “abusing [DDG], child abuse, taking away or hiding [Halo], threatening to take away or hide [Halo] and not cooperating” in parenting.”
DDG requested that the judge bar Halle Bailey from exhibiting abuse — this is the specific part the judge granted. Some examples were: harassment, threats, assault, stalking, property destruction, surveillance, and online impersonation.
He also requested a no-contact order and a stay-away order of 100 yards away for Halo, himself, his home, workplace, or job. Moreover, the streamer asked the judge to allow him to record calls or communications with Halle. DDG also wanted the judge to prevent Bailey from looking for his and Halo’s living address or locations. Additionally, he asked the judge to prevent Halle from relocating without his or the court’s permission.

However, he agreed that Bailey could access Halo’s records and information and should have visitation with a professional third party on a 2-2-5-5 time share.
Darryl also sought child support and payment for his lawyer’s fees and costs. He also requested that the judge assign Halle a 52-week batterer intervention program, which would be weekly classes to address accountability, abuse effects, and gender roles. If ordered, DDG requires Bailey to submit proof of completion.
Additionally, DDG asked the court to require Halle to turn in, sell, or store any firearms, parts, or ammunition they have or control. He also wanted her barred from making related purchases.

Court Docs Include Messages Of Self-Harm Halle Allegedly Sent In 2024
DDG’s restraining order request included several exhibits. A declaration from his mother, Tonya Granberry. Photos of a bloody cut on his hand. Alleged texts from Halle with dates as far back as 2022. Their romantic relationship ended in October 2024.
Dated texts, including after Halo’s birth, include language of suggestive self-harm. Alleged screenshots from March 21, 2024, show Bailey sending multiple texts in 12 hours. The few responses DDG gave encouraged space between them. He later asked Hall to go home with Halo after she allegedly showed up at his home. In a flurry of messages, Bailey accused DDG of having sexual intercourse with influencer Lala Baptiste during a Mexico trip. “I’m [going] to kill [myself] tonight,” Halle reportedly texted at 11:09 p.m., followed by “My son will not be [around] for it,” one minute later.

Halle also called her ex-boyfriend a “selfish, disgusting person” before pleading with Darryl to “please take [Halo] away from” her and later adding, “Me and Halo are in the cold.” Meanwhile, the streamer replied that he was “genuinely scared” of her, fearing that she might “kill” him in his sleep. He added that he didn’t trust her “around guns,” which he allegedly had in his home. “Please just go home and I’ll pick Halo up from there,” DDG texted on 3/21/2024 at 11:15 p.m.
With the parents accusing each other of forms of abuse, their independent fan bases have begun taking sides. Amid that, Halle Bailey’s fans have surfaced Snapchat content from April 2021, in which Halle admits to battling “severe” postpartum depression, including feeling like she was “drowning” while trying to “come up for air.” In those same videos, she credited DDG for being the “most amazing daddy in the world,” per PEOPLE.
