A plastic surgeon who gained viral fame for her social media videos has had her Ohio medical license permanently revoked this week after reportedly live-streaming her surgeries, according to the New York Times.
Dr. Katharine Roxanne Grawe had previously been temporarily suspended from practicing medicine in the state in Nov. 2022, the New York Post reported last year. That suspension came after patient allegations of botched surgeries and privacy violations.

Ohio Doctor’s Medical License Revoked After Livestreamed Patient Reported Complications
Grawe has not practiced medicine since the November suspension, according to the Columbus Dispatch.
However, she will now no longer be allowed to practice in Ohio ever again as of Wednesday (Jul. 12).
Three unnamed patients had reported complications from procedures performed by Grawe. One of those three had their surgery broadcasted on Grawe’s social media, the Times reports.
The State Medical Board ultimately found that Grawe “(failed) to meet standards of care.” The board accused Grawe of caring more for her social media followers than her patients.
Board members also argued that the live streams harmed patients and violated their privacy rights. She was also fined $4,500, per the Times.

Surgeon Has Nearly 1M Followers, Over 14M Likes, Said Videos Were For Educational Purposes
Grawe, better known by her TikTok handle “Dr. Roxy,” boasts 825,500 followers and 14.6 million likes on the platform. Her TikTok and Instagram accounts have been made private ever since the initial November suspension.
At Wednesday’s hearing, Dr. Grawe attempted to make her case before the medical board. The Times reports that she had taken the board’s criticism to heart and acknowledged she had “fallen below the board’s ideal in multiple ways.”
She claimed that the videos posted to social media were intended to teach plastic surgery to regular, everyday people considering such cosmetic work.
“But, as I stand here today, I see how many of those videos appeared silly and unprofessional,” she said.
However, the board argued that Grawe’s social media use only “amplified her reckless behavior.” They said the videos were not to educate but rather to further her own personal brand.

Surgeon Claims Her Husband Left Her, Kids Being Harrassed At School Due To The Situation
Grawe went on to tell the board that her husband left her due to the stress of the situation. She added her kids are being harassed at school, as well.
She also said she was forced to fire 20 employees at her Powell clinic, Roxy Plastic Surgery, according to the Times.
A website for her practice, Roxy Plastic Surgery, was placed into “maintenance mode” according to the site and is currently unavailable.
Meanwhile, Grawe has 15 days to appeal the board’s decision, a spokeswoman for the medical board, Jerica Stewart, told the outlet.
