Robert De Niro became emotional as he recently discussed welcoming his nine-month-old daughter, Gia, to the world.
The 80-year-old shares his little girl with his girlfriend, Tiffany Chen. The couple reportedly met on the set of the 2015 comedy, ‘The Intern.’ He was first seen vacationing hand-in-hand with Chen in 2021, per PEOPLE.

Robert De Niro Gets Emotional Talking About His Daughter
In a candid interview with AARP The Magazine. the ‘Goodfellas’ star shed tears over becoming a dad again! He explained the impact that their little girl has had on his life.
“It feels great,” Robert said. “Everything that I’m consumed with or worried about just goes away when I look at her. It’s wondrous.”
Despite his age, De Niro clarified he had embraced fatherhood again with open arms and an open heart.
“When she gets older — who knows? But that very sweet way she has of looking at you, taking you in, thinking and watching and observing…”
His voice trailed off as he wiped away a tear. He said, “I want to be around for as long as I can to enjoy it; enjoy her.”

The New York native and Chen welcomed Gia back in April 2023. Despite being a public figure, the couple kept the news under wraps for about a month.
De Niro finally made the subtle announcement in an interview with ET Canada in May 2023 after being quizzed about his six children. De Niro corrected the interviewer, stating, “Seven, actually.”
De Niro Says Parenthood Never Gets Easier
During the NYC premiere of his movie ‘About My Father,’ he also touched on becoming a dad at 79. Parenthood comes with challenges, but De Niro feels prepared to handle it.
“I’m okay with it. I’m good with it,” he told Extra in May, adding that raising children “never gets easier” based on a person’s age.
De Niro’s journey in fatherhood has now spanned over 47 years. The actor welcomed two children, Raphael and Drena, during his first marriage with Diahnne Abbott.
After their divorce, he had twin sons, Julian and Aaron, with model Toukie Smith.
His second marriage was with Grace Hightower, a former flight attendant. They had a son and a daughter, Elliot and Helen.
