Jhene Aiko found herself defending her artistry on Twitter today after she sent social media into a frenzy after dropping off some well-appreciated music! “Triggered.” The new song had fans sending praises to Jhene but some also insisted that the selection was a diss track!Some of them called it the “smoothest diss track of 2019.” As y’all know, Jhene was previously heavily involved with Big Sean. The two split and soon after, Sean was spotted with his ex, Ariana Grande,There are lines that are suggestive of ‘Triggered” being a diss track, like when she says, “You are my enemy, You are no friend of me, motherf****. You Motherf***** right i’m bitter. You Motherf***** right i’m triggered.” and then again when she says, “might catch a case in this b****. Don’t let me catch you face to face in this b****.”
Jhene took to Twitter to clear the air about the song’s lyrics.
“”triggered” was a moment. a moment that for me has passed. it is new to you because ur just now hearing it, but for me… it’s something i moved on from the moment i expressed it,” she said. “Triggered is NOT a diss song. it is a moment of talking shit out of frustration and passion. it’s was a moment of exaggerated expression when I was feeling lost and weak. no one is to be blamed or bashed for how I was feeling in that moment. I am in control of my feelings. this is how I paint. this is me yelling and throwing paint at a canvas… then going out into the world feeling less tension, more open… more loving. going to bed feeling less stressed, more optimistic.”
The song is a beautiful song! Jhene definitely dropped a song that hits different when you experienced that ish too!
