Roomies, it looks like the legal battle surrounding Wendy Williams guardianship just took another turn and the court has spoken. After months of speculation, medical exams, and back-and-forth from her legal team and family, new reports show that Wendy underwent a fresh round of intense testing. While many were hoping it might shift things in her favor, the outcome has fans worried.
According to legal documents obtained by People, Wendy recently completed a full medical evaluation and it was thorough. The evaluation reportedly included a “significant number of tests (both medical and neuropsychological) and even brain scans. Though the court paperwork didnt name a specific condition, sources tell People that Wendy has once again been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and aphasia the same heartbreaking diagnosis she received back in 2023.
As a result, her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, is requesting the court extend the guardianship through November 5. The filing states that medical specialists have formed a clear opinion on Wendys neurological condition, specifically whether she has the capacity to make her own decisions and apparently, that answer was no.
But, it doesnt stop there. Wendys team isnt backing down, and her lawyer, Joe Tacopina, has made it clear hes ready to hold everyone responsible for her guardianship accountable. Additionally, he called out the recent leak of her alleged medical diagnosis and hes not holding back. Joe revealed the reports of dementia and aphasia are false and claims the leak not only violates Wendys HIPAA rights, but also exposes how certain parties are pushing to keep her under a restrictive guardianship for their own gain.
Meanwhile, the court documents also reveal that complications have arisen as various parties including members of Wendys family, her ex-husband, and others are now preparing to challenge not just the guardianship, but also Sabrina Morrisseys role as guardian. Despite the new test results backing up her original diagnosis, Wendy is still fighting to regain control of her life but with this latest confirmation, it’s unclear how much weight her claims will hold in court.
