He’s Back! Social Media Reacts To Draymond Green’s Return To The Golden State Warriors Following 12-Game Suspension

Breathe easy, Warriors fans. Draymond Green is set to make his much-anticipated return to the Golden State Warriors as his indefinite suspension has officially been lifted.

In a recent development, the NBA has decided to reinstate the athlete after he served an indefinite suspension, which began on December 13.

The league’s decision comes after Green was involved in an incident where he struck Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic during a game.

Officials conducted a thorough investigation into the matter and determined that Green’s actions warranted a suspension.

However, after carefully reviewing the situation, the NBA has now deemed it appropriate to allow him to return to the court.

“During the period of his suspension, which began on Dec. 14 and resulted in him missing 12 games, Green completed steps that demonstrated his commitment to conforming his conduct to standards expected of NBA players,” the league said in a statement released on Saturday (January 6).

Green’s return will undoubtedly provide a boost to the Warriors’ lineup. The power forward is set to make his anticipated comeback on Sunday (January 7). The team will face off against the Toronto Raptors.

The league lifted his suspension three days after a report via ESPN claimed the basketball player was to return to the practice facility in the coming days.

Per the publication, Green reportedly had several virtual meetings with his team as well as executives to “chart his progress” after attending counseling sessions for his unsportsmanlike behavior.

The NBA continued by highlighting his progression in its statement, noting that he will continue to meet with his counselor throughout the season.

Social Media Reacts To Draymond’s Reinstatement

Deemed significant enough to touch the high-speed lanes of social media, reactions over Green’s reinstatement poured in thick and fast, echoing the reinstated player’s impact on the game.

In the comment section of The Shade Room’s post, user @nauticaarmani wrote:

“Maybe I don’t understand what indefinitely means.”

The comment referred to the NBA initially saying Green’s suspension was indefinite.

A third person, @mekafye, seemed just as confused by the news as they continued:

“12 game suspension? I could’ve sworn he just got suspended last week 😂 Who’s controlling time cause I need answers.”

Additionally, the conversation extended far beyond the TSR comment section. People continued to share their thoughts on Green’s reinstatement over on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Furthermore, one tweet used the viral clip of felon Debora Redden attacking Clark County District Judge Mary Kay Holthus.

The X user joked that Green’s first day back would play out similarly to the courtroom assault. However, others used wrestling footage and suggested that the athlete’s return to the NBA would be far from smooth.
