The eldest daughter of Kimora Lee Simmons and Russell Simmons is officially an alum of New York University.

On Friday, May 26, Russell Simmons returned to Instagram to congratulate his eldest daughter, Aoki Lee Simmons, for graduating from Harvard University at 20!

Additionally, Simmons explained that he is “so proud” of his daughter. However, words cannot fully “describe” his feelings.

Following her graduation, Simmons shared a statement with PEOPLE.

“I feel grateful, proud and relieved — in that order! It’s a surreal feeling to be done with something that was such a huge part of my life. Now, like every other graduate, I’m on to the next chapter…”

Additionally, Aoki Lee Simmons thanked her “village” for their support.

“I’m so thankful for the village of people that spurred me along and helped keep me focused. My mom, my sister, my little brothers back at home. It took a whole tribe, trust me!”

Simmons then shared her post-graduation job plans.

“I’ll be in New York modeling, writing and working at my mom’s company. There are so many projects that I can’t wait to dive into. But it will be nice to take a breath!”

Sy’Rai Smith, the 20-year-old daughter of singer Brandy, appeared to graduate college on June 1. Smith took to her Instagram page to share a photo of herself along with her mother in her graduation gown.

“WE graduated with highest honors. we got another year and a half left to get the next. i love you mama. thank you for supporting me through every single journey.”
